UMPD Steps Up Security over Graduation Weekend
A rash of violent incidents in University of Minnesota’s Dinkytown just days before commencement put the entire community on edge. In response, UMPD swiftly took action to ramp up patrols and police presence on campus.
An important part of their proactive security plan for graduation weekend was to set up MPS camera and light trailers in prominent locations. The mobile camera provided a live feed to the university’s dispatch center and was a visible reminder that law enforcement were closely monitoring the area.
